About the Role: FDR Social Care Ltd is seeking compassionate and dedicated Adult and Children Support Workers to join our team, supporting individuals across Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
FDR Social Care is a flexible, dynamic, and reliable independent provider, accredited by the CQC and other industry regulators, specializing in the provision of Supported Living and accommodation for individuals with additional and complex needs. This role is pivotal in providing tailored support to individuals, including children, young people and adults, helping them to lead independent, fulfilling lives. You will work within a person-centred approach, ensuring the physical, emotional and social needs of each individual are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Support:
- Provide practical and emotional support to children and adults in accordance with their individual care plans.
- Assist with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation and household chores.
- Support individuals to access community activities, education and employment opportunities.
- Safeguarding and Wellbeing:
- Monitor the safety and wellbeing of service users, addressing any safeguarding concerns promptly.
- Promote positive behaviours and manage challenging situations using de-escalation techniques.
- Development and Independence:
- Encourage and enable service users to develop life skills and increase independence.
- Create and implement activities to promote confidence, self-esteem, and social integration.
- Communication and Liaison:
- Maintain open and effective communication with families, carers, and other professionals.
- Attend and contribute to meetings, reviews and multi-agency discussions.
- Record Keeping:
- Accurately document observations, incidents and progress reports.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with data protection regulations.
Essential Criteria:
- Previous experience in a similar support or care role (experience with both children and adults preferred).
- Knowledge of safeguarding and child/adult protection principles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Patience, empathy and the ability to work under pressure.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Desirable Criteria:
- Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
- Training in First Aid, Manual Handling or Positive Behaviour Support (PBS).
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle.
